Saving a file as a PDF with Photoshop

It’s a simple thing to save a Photoshop creation as a PDF. You may even open the document in Photoshop and continue making modifications afterwards, depending on the settings you select.

This guide is for you if you’ve ever wondered how to save as a PDF in Photoshop (or whether it’s even feasible). Take a look at the incredibly simple methods below!

If you want to convert psd to pdf, you can use a psd to pdf converter.

Please keep in mind that the screenshots below are from the Windows version of Photoshop CC. They will appear somewhat different if you are using the Mac version.

Step 1: Navigate to the Save As menu.

To save a file, click on the file you want to save on the menu then Save As. If you don’t touch save, the application will save it with the default settings, which aren’t PDF.

Step 2: Select a PDF Format

To open this list of format possibilities, click on the Save as type box in the menu that appears. Choose Photoshop PDF.

Important: click the As a Copy option towards the bottom if you want to continue working with the original file in Photoshop. Otherwise, depending on the document’s settings, you may be unable to access the layers and continue editing. And for this purpose, you can use a psd to pdf converter.

Save the file.

Step 3: Select the Most Appropriate Adobe PDF Preset

Another menu will appear before the document is saved. When saving PDFs, you may change the parameters to make the document more suitable for other programmes. Adobe makes it simple by giving PDF defaults that eliminate the need to mark all of the options. Although, you can use a psd to pdf converter for all the documents conversions to pdf documents.

To open this dropdown menu, click on the Adobe PDF Preset box towards the top.

If you intend to print the file, select the High-Quality Print setting for home printing. Choose Press Quality for commercial printing to retain the information necessary for professional printing.

If you want to upload data to the internet, choose Smallest File Size to optimise it for usage on the internet. If you don’t have either, you may use a psd to pdf converter to ensure that the format and dimensions are correct. Make sure the Optimize for Fast Web Preview option is selected for quick viewing in a web browser.

Step 4: Customize the Settings

If you want to be able to modify the file later, check the Preserve Photoshop Editing Capabilities box. If the project is finished and you want a smaller file size, deselect this option to significantly reduce the size.

Click Compression on the left side of the window to reduce the size even further.

Select High from the Image Quality dropdown option instead of Maximum. Once you’ve got the parameters just right, click the Save PDF button at the bottom.
